ordering policy - summer 2020
Please read as our ordering procedure has changed:
We are open Tuesday - Thursday at 2 p.m. and Friday - Sunday at 11 a.m. for phone ordering as our supplies and other circumstances permit.
All orders should still be placed on the phone and our carryout is closed to the public.
We are experiencing an extremely high volume of calls when we open each day, we are trying our very best to answer your calls as quickly as possible but we have a very small staff and a limited number of phone lines so please be patient. If you can't get through to us, we are not ignoring your call, our phone lines are just getting backed up with the many calls coming through. Also, please do not show up at Steamers if you can't get through on the phone, we will not take your order in person. We know its frustrating, we're trying to answer the phones as quickly as possible with the small staff we have.
If you are calling to order anything but crabs please call us about an hour after we open so we can get through the opening crab ordering rush. We are still only taking same day preorders for crabs for the foreseeable future. We sincerely appreciate your patience, kindness and understanding as we work through this time.
Statement on Health & Safety:
We have always taken great pride in our sanitary and safety procedures and continue to do so at this time. We are following all relevant recommendations by the CDC and National Restaurant Association regarding sanitation and health. If you have any specific questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Our crabs are sorted by size and weight and are always steamed to order. Crabs are available steamed or live, but are always cooked and spiced unless otherwise specified at the time of ordering. Crabs are delivered daily but quantities are often limited, please call in advance for pricing, availability and to place your order. Crabs are available by the 1/2 dozen, dozen.

A note on allergies:
Our crab and shrimp seasoning is gluten and MSG free.
If you are concerned about a specific spice or shellfish allergy, please consult with your physician before ordering any cooked items from our menu, as many of our steamed products come into contact with each other during our cooking process. We cannot guarantee any non-spice orders will not come into contact with spice at some point during the cooking process.
We pride ourselves on providing our customers with the best selection of fresh seafood and shellfish available. The seafood industry, especially the crab industry, is an ever-changing business. Crabs are a limited natural resource and are not always in great supply, especially around the summer holidays. Over the last 10 years we have seen the supply of Maryland crabs vary drastically every year. As demand increases and the natural supply decreases, our ability to stock crabs and other items will change. All of our crabs are hand sorted by size and weight to ensure that you get the best product possible. Thank you for your patronage.
Steamers Cancellation Policy:
1/2 bushel and bushel orders:
All half and full bushel orders that are placed in advance require full payment at the time of order. Any quantity reductions or cancellations must be made by closing time the night before the pickup day for the order. If any reductions or cancellations are made the day of the scheduled order, you will be charged the full amount of the order.
Big crab orders:
Because we specialize in Chesapeake Bay crabs, customers looking for x-large or jumbo crabs usually place their orders days or weeks in advance (except for holiday weekends). We write these orders as 'largest' tickets and number them according to the order in which they are placed and then do our best to fill these orders with the biggest crabs come in on that day. All largest crab orders require a $50 per dozen deposit at the time of the order. Any reductions or cancellations on these orders must be made closing time the night before the pickup day for the order or you will forfeit your deposit.
